Local Product Spotlight: Big Water Coffee Roasters

bigwatercoffee2

Founded in 2009 and expanded in 2010, Big Water Coffee Roasters in Bayfield, Wisconsin specialize in robust coffee roasts created on site. The enthusiasm of owners Jon and Danielle Ewalt come through in every bag of coffee. They sell a variety of coffees at Chequamegon Food Co-op, all with Big Water’s unique flavor profile. Soon, Big Water Coffee Roasters’ brews will be certified organic.

Big Water coffees tend to be richly flavored. If you like a medium, nutty roast with sweet caramel undertones, reach for the Brazil. The Sumatra offers a smooth, earthy roast with notes of cedar and thyme. For cocoa flavor with a nutty finish, check out the Peru. A dark roast, Midnight Voyager is Big Water’s most robust roast, filled with smoky flavor and hints of cherries dipped in dark bittersweet chocolate. We also sell a fruity roast from Ethiopia and a light, well balanced roast from Mexico.

If you would like to taste a variety of coffees roasted by Big Water coffees, join us on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. for a free, member-only tasting at Big Water Coffee Roasters, 117 Rittenhouse Ave. in Bayfield. In addition to tasting and evaluating coffees from different origins, we will also demo the roasting process from start to finish. We promise you’ll leave fully caffeinated, more knowledgeable about coffee and with a small sample of your favorite Big Water coffee to brew at home. This is a free, member-only tasting. Pre-registration is required and there is a 15 person limit. Please register by calling Meagan at (715)682-8251.
