1. Accounts Payable - part-time

Purpose: To provide timely, accurate entering and payment of invoices and other financial information to support achievement of business objectives.

Status: Reports to General Manager, works closely with POS Coordinator, Bookkeeper, Department Managers

Responsibilities:

1. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

A. Check invoices for accurate extensions and product assignments.

B. Pay verified bills, taking supplier discounts when advantageous for cash flow and to maintain good credit.

C. Coordinate large payments with purchasers and General Manager to avoid strains on cash flow.

D. Research and correct problem accounts.

E. Maintain up-to-date invoice files.

2. MONEY-HANDLING

A. Give feedback to cashiers via Front End Manager on accuracy of cash-handling and drawer-counting.

B. Prepare bank deposits and enter daily cash receipts to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Train other employees designated by the general manager as back-up.

C. Record bad checks, work with Front End Manager to collect. Record other accounts receivable and follow up as needed to ensure payment.

3. OFFICE MANAGEMENT

A. Maintain computer used for accounting, upgrading software as needed.

B. Ensure back-up for all data entered.

C. Maintain all passwords in a secure fashion.

4. OTHER

A. Perform other tasks assigned by General Manager including but not limited to answering phone calls, answering cashiering bells, back-up cashiering, general customer service, light cleaning, and backup for POS coordinator.

- Familiarity with computers, computer literacy.

- Communication skills--good listener, able to give clear directions.

Job Type: Part-time

2. Meat/grocery buyer - full-time

GROCERY DEPARTMENT BUYER JOB DESCRIPTION

(Bulk, Frozen, Refrigerated, Cheese, Meat, Coffee, Herbs, Alcohol, Center Store)

 

Purpose:  To purchase and price designated products to meet objectives for sales, margin and inventory turns, to keep designated sections fully stocked and to provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service.

Status: Reports to Grocery Manager

Occasionally Supervises grocery stockers.

Works closely with other buyers and other department staff.
            Pay Level   III

 CHEQUAMEGON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTERNAL SERVICE BASICS FOR ALL STAFF

  • Provide excellent customer service to our shoppers, making the customer’s needs your priority whenever on the sales floor or answering the phone.
  • Share information with our shoppers about co-op happenings, educational opportunities, and the benefits of co-op membership.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service to all staff members, maintaining an attitude of goodwill toward yourself and others.
  • Help to create a work environment that is cooperative, fun, productive, and safe, and that focuses on solutions instead of problems.

 Responsibilities:

 CUSTOMER SERVICE

A.    Assist customers with product questions, in prompt, friendly, courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.

B.    Offer suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products.

C.    Assist customers placing special orders.

D.    Become familiar with co-op policies and products in order to answer customer questions.  Refer unresolved questions or problems to appropriate staff.

E.    Encourage non-members to join, explain benefits of membership and sign up new members, ensuring complete information on application.

F.    Assist in cashiering and answer and route phone calls as needed.

G.    Provide assistance with special orders and other customer service issues.

 I.  PURCHASING

A. Place orders to ensure appropriate supply of products for everyday and specials sales.

B. Receive and stock orders following established procedures.

C. Order merchandising materials from outside vendors as needed.

D. Calculate prices for special orders and notify customers of delivery.

E. Make suggestions for products to add or discontinue to Grocery Manager.

F. Ensure purchase commitments (Co-op Deals) are given to Grocery Manager in a timely fashion.

G. Pick Owner Deals, Fresh Deals and other promotions for department in a timely fashion.

H. Develop other promotions in conjunction with grocery manager, Marketing and Merchandising.

 II. MERCHANDISING

A. Maintain attractive, fully stocked and rotated (and fronted, where applicable) sections, (bins, shelves, displays, etc). Stock in other areas of store as assigned.

B. Ensure accurate, uniform and up-to-date department signs per sign policy, by creating own or requesting from designated staff in timely manner and following up to ensure task has been completed.

C. Provide product information to customers, staff and Marketing.

 III. DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE

A. Ensure that unsellable items are returned or otherwise properly disposed of, following established procedures.  Keep accurate shrinkage records when necessary.

B. Ensure that department areas (aisles, shelves, bins, and storage areas) are in clean, orderly condition, meeting or exceeding health department standards.

C. Prepare for and participate in department inventory counts.

D. Maintain department equipment in working order.  Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures (where applicable) and follow established procedures for handling breakdowns.  Advise Grocery Manager or General Mananger of equipment problems or needs. Plan and participate in department cleaning and other maintenance projects as needed.

E. Follow safe working practices.

 IV. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review departmental financial reports (sales, margin, turns, etc) with Grocery Manager and/or General Manager and take corrective action as instructed.
  2. Train other staff in grocery stocking and other department procedures.

C.   Attend storewide and department meetings.

D.   Perform other tasks assigned by Grocery Manager.

E.  Provide assistance with special orders and other customer service issues

G.  Supervise stockers, receivers, and other department staff as needed. 

H.  Works Manager on Duty and Personal Shopper shifts as assigned.

I.    Provide leadership to all coop staff while upholding coop polices and principles

       Some degree of proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook

3. Deli Assistant –

SELF-SERVICE DELI

  • Follow all food safety protocols
  • Open and close kitchen following set protocols
  • Wash dishes and keep a clean workspace
  • Clean, prep and chop veggies and other raw ingredients for reciepes
  • Prepare sandwiches, wraps and salads following set procedures
  • Slice meat, cheeses, etc
  • Prepare Soups, hot and cold case items following recipes
  • Portion, weigh, label and package products
  • Bake basic items such as cookies and biscuits as needed

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. STORE MAINTENANCE
  • Clean up spills, remove trash and recycling promptly, break down cardboard for recycling, sweep and mop floor.
  • Keep shelves, coolers, bins and backstock in clean orderly condition. Dust and clean shelves and product when stocking.
  • Use equipment safely. Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures.  Advise department managers of equipment problems.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts.

 

 

  1. OTHER DUTIES
  • Attend all-staff and department meetings and store cleaning days
  • Perform Manager on Duty shifts as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by deli manager

 

 

  1. DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE
  • A Ensure food prep and display areas are maintained in sanitary, orderly condition meeting health department standards. Utilize and maintain food safety plans.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling procedures.
  • Participate in quarterly deli inventory counts.
  • Ensure adequate amounts of deli supplies.
  • Maintain department equipment in working order.
