TOUR: Ever wondered where our local produce comes from? Join us for the south route farm tours. We are going to Hermit Creek Farm, Great Oak Farm, and Hidden-Vue Farm. We will meet at the co-op and car-caravan to each farm. Kids are welcome with supervision, please no dogs or other pets. Please prepare to be out in the sun for lots of the day – bring sunscreen, water, hat, etc. We will have a lunch break, please bring your own food.


Hermit Creek Farm owned by Landis and Steve Spickerman is located south of the co-op about 20 miles in Highbridge, WI. Hermit Creek Farm is certified both USDA organic went a step further with the Real Organic Project certification. The farm strives to use regenerative farming practices which focus on soil and ecosystem health, improve on-farm biodiversity, water quality, and add resilience in an increasingly chaotic climate. One of Landis’s favorite products is squash which they grow over a dozen varieties of!



Great Oak Farm in Mason, WI is owned by Chris Duke. Chris is a founding producer-member of Bayfield Foods, a cooperative CSA of over 20 local producers food serving the greater south shore of Lake Superior. Great Oak Farm focuses on vegetable production that is also both USDA Organic and Real Organic Project certified. Chris provides the co-op with micro-greens, spinach, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, and more!



Hidden-Vue Farm is a 600 acre beef farm specializing in raising 100% grass-fed Devon cattle owned by David Nortunen. Hidden Vue Farm, though not certified, raises their cattle with organic standards. This family farm has been in business for over 100 years, and produces safe, healthy, and delicious beef.
