Chequamegon Bay Food Day 2013
Chequamegon Bay Food Day celebrates access to healthy, sustainable foods. It is part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness about food accessibility. On Thursday, October 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be serving free samples of squash soup (prepared for and served by Memorial Medical Center), artisan bread (made by Chef Jonathan Berthel), and local cheeses, plus Big Water’s tasty coffee. Local musicians Nathan Parent and Joel Glickman will be playing music and we will have a Q&A with Steven Spickerman of Hermit Creek Farm.
Two local educational institutions will join the Co-op in celebrating Chequamegon Bay Food Day. Northland College will be serving local food at all the stations in the cafeteria, while WITC-Ashland will be serving Hauser’s Superior View Farm apples for the entire week of Food Day.
