Summer Celebration: Free Music, Food & Fun

The Chequamegon Food Co-op will be hosting a celebration in honor of the best the summer season has to offer. From free Tetzner’s ice cream and Big Water Coffee Roasters iced coffee to old-school yard games and dance music by Chequamegon Bay People’s Orchestra, the Co-op’s Summer Celebration on Saturday, August 5, 2017 will celebrate summertime favorites.

The free community event will start with a spread of summer foods, including a variety of local products. Starting at 10 a.m., the Chequamegon Bay People’s Orchestra will play dance music to get the party really cooking. There will also be yard games such as giant Jenga, potato sack races, and a flamingo ring toss. Markie Anderson of ReMarkieable will be on hand to paint faces. Party goers will also be eligible to win a variety of swag (including t-shirts and bags).

“Summer is why a lot of us live up here, so we wanted to have a party that really captures the best of everything we love about this season,” said Meagan Van Beest, Co-op marketing manager and the event’s organizer. “What better way to do that than by highlighting local food with a side of local music and some fun games?”

The Summer Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Co-op’s parking lot. To learn more about the Chequamegon Food Co-op and its summer party, please contact Meagan Van Beest, general co-manager, at (715) 682-8251 or meaganv@cheqfood.coop.
