Annual Meeting & GMT Update

In case you missed it, over 100 owners met for our Annual Meeting the last week of April. We dined on tacos made by the Deli and enjoyed beer courtesy of Beechwood Sales & Service. On the agenda was a review of the past year, appreciation for outgoing board president Steve Sandstrom and board member Carole Carlson, a look ahead at what’s to come, and voting for new board members. We welcome Blake Gross and Laura Nagro to the board of directors! Check out the General Management Team’s speech for a snapshot of last year and our vision for the future.

And now for big news about changes to the General Management Team. Vicki Richeson, general co-manager and full-charge bookkeeper has resigned her position. Vicki will be leaving the Co-op in mid-June to move to Florida with her family. She wishes she could pack up the Co-op and take it with her! We are certainly going to miss Vicki’s financial wisdom and visionary perspective.

The GMT and Board of Directors created a succession plan in case this very situation occurred. We are in the fortunate position of having more than one general manager, so the transition should be relatively seamless. The remaining two general co-managers (Kiersten and Meagan) will absorb the general manger duties that Vicki performed. The two-person GMT will then hire a bookkeeper to fill that staff position.

If you have any questions about this transition, we encourage you to attend the Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, which starts at 5 p.m. in the Community Room at the Co-op.
